Sativa has opened its first CBD shop in Bath, Somerset under the Goodbody Wellness brand.
With the UK CBD market estimated to be worth £1 billion by 2025, the shop could be the first of many. Sativa has ambitions to open up to 100 medicinal cannabis stores in the UK within the next two years. The group has clear ambitions to become the first nationwide chain of its kind.
The Goodbody Wellness shop was opened by Crispin Blunt MP. The shop sells over 50 CBD products, as well as offering shoppers CBD infused tea and coffee.
“The UK is about five or six years behind our friends in North America, but I’m confident we can catch up here.”Geremy Thomas – Founder, Sativa Investments
Each Goodbody Wellness shop will have a barista offering CBD-infused coffee and tea. The shops will also stock CBD products ranging from bath bombs to vape oils and skincare.
Instead of the typical doom and gloom that usually surrounds retail on the UK high street, Thomas is optimistic about the CBD market. He believes that CBD dispensaries will become a regular feature in UK towns and cities.
The Sativa group are the UK’s first medicinal cannabis investment. They listed on the London NEX Exchange back in Spring 2018. The group has hired former Phones 4U executive Chris Jones as Managing Director in order to lead the CBD market push.
Thomas believes the Goodbody Wellness will go on to become a “national brand” and complement health retailers such as Holland & Barrett.
